The first AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB GPU designs have been revealed by AIBs such as XFX, PowerColor & Sapphire. In addition to AIBs, the first system integrators have also started to ship their PCs equipped with GPUs worldwide.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB graphics card was introduced and launched during the China Joy 2023 event. During the launch, only three manufacturers announced their models of which two are based on custom designs and one is based on the reference MBA variant. All three cards utilize the same specs but can differ in terms of cooling solutions, clock speeds, and PCBs. While the GPUs are said to be sold within China only, select system integrators will be selling PCs equipped with the same GPUs across the globe.

Starting with Sapphire, the company has launched its Radeon RX 7900 GRE Nitro+ OC variant. The Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 GRE Sapphire Nitro+ will feature a triple-slot and triple-fan design which is slightly different than the other two RDNA 3 offerings. It features a smaller Navi 31 GPU package and requires dual 8-pin connectors to boot. The clock speeds are a +150 MHz bump over the stock speeds (2395 MHz vs 2245 MHz). The cooling solution also drops the use of a vapor chamber heat sink and goes with a standard aluminum-finned design with 5 copper heat pipes.

Moving on to PowerColor’s RX 7900 GRE Red Devil variant, it has a similar design scheme as the RX 7900 XT & XTX but is a thinner model which features a 2.5-slot design. The GPU comes with a triple-fan cooling system with three 10cm fans attached to seven heat pipes. The PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 GRERed Devil also features a custom PCB design that comes with a dual-BIOS switch that lets you select between the 2395 MHz (OC) and the 2345 MHz (Silent) profile. The card can sip up to 800 Watts of power with the OC BIOS.

Finally, XFX has released the reference model of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE also known as MBA (Made by AMD). The design is similar to what we saw with the Radeon RX 7000 series. The GPU features a dual 8-pin configuration with the usual black color scheme. This design is the same as the one used on the RX 7900 XT, not the 7900 XTX. The custom models cost 5499 RMB or $770 US while the reference variant costs 5299 RMB or $740 US. For the North American markets, the same graphics card will be priced at $649 US which means a $100 US difference between Chinese and US markets.

In addition to the cards, German system integrator "Memory PC" has also listed Gaming PCs featuring the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE GPUs in both Intel and AMD offerings.

Memory PC Intel/AMD Gaming PCs With Radeon RX 7900 GRE GPUs:

The price difference between the Radeon RX 7900 GRE and the Radeon RX 7900 XT is 235.90 Euros while the 7900 XTX costs 435.90 Euros extra so it is in line with the US prices if we add in the exchange rate difference. Although we initially expect GPUs to be a bit difficult to purchase, such GPUs often hit retail through third-party marketplaces like eBay. Make sure to keep an eye out in case you are looking to grab one.
